Own the Crown, never the vote.
Put your project beside a country’s live result. Get a reviewed sponsor link, a shareable Crown card, and outbound clicks recorded against your Crown. Sponsorship never changes votes, rank, or map color.
Sponsored Crowns are paid visibility. They never add votes or change the ranking.
What a Crown actually gives you
A Sponsored Crown is one clearly labeled placement in the Crown card beside a country result. This is the complete list of what it publishes and records. Nothing else is promised, and nothing on this list is optional at our discretion once your Crown is live.
Your sponsor name
Shown as the holder of that country’s Crown, in the card’s largest type, for as long as your tenure lasts.
One moderated short line
Optional plain text, up to 80 characters, in your own words. It is published only after review against the Sponsor Content Policy.
Your verified destination host
Printed as plain text, deliberately not a link, so a visitor reads where the action goes before taking it. The host shown is re-checked against the host reached.
A clickable “Visit sponsor” link
A first-party
/golink to your reviewed destination, opening in a new tab and carryingrel="sponsored"— the disclosure a search engine expects on a paid link.Click recording
Outbound clicks are recorded against your exact Crown tenure, and uniqueness is counted as one visitor per UTC day. There is no view, impression, or click-through rate measured anywhere in the product, and no sponsor dashboard to log in to.
A place in the round’s Crown history
Your takeover is written into the round ledger as a numbered Crown version for that country, and a confirmed payment produces a shareable Crown card recording the transfer.
What it looks like beside a country
This is the same card component the country panel renders, filled with example values, so it cannot drift from the real placement.
your-business.example is a reserved domain that resolves to nothing. On a live card the “Visit sponsor” action is a working link, and a second action invites the next sponsor to take the Crown at or above the next minimum.Where this round stands right now

Price and the takeover minimum
- From €5Opening minimum — the buyer picks the exact amount
- Paid + €1The next takeover’s minimum, set by the amount actually paid
- Up to €500Ceiling for any single purchase
A first Crown in a country costs at least €5, and the buyer chooses the exact amount at checkout: any whole-euro amount up to €500. The amount paid becomes that country’s defence — a takeover must pay at least the holder’s amount plus €1. Pay €5 and the next minimum is €6; pay €50 and dethroning you starts at €51. Paying above the minimum buys nothing else — no extra placement, feature, or duration. VAT is 0 under the Austrian small-business exemption, so the chosen amount is the total the buyer pays and checkout adds no tax line.
A Crown is not exclusive for the rest of the round. Another eligible sponsor who pays at least the current minimum takes it, and the earlier claim is superseded at that moment with no refund and no compensation. A Crown ends when the round ends; nothing renews.
Checkout is offered only to verified business buyers established in Austria, or in another enabled EU member state with a VAT ID an operator has marked valid. Consumers, United Kingdom buyers, and other non-EU buyers cannot check out.
Straight answers
The “Visit sponsor” link is a paid link and is labelled as one in the markup. That label is the honest description of what you are buying: a clearly disclosed placement and a measurable referral path, not a search or ranking outcome. We make no claim about search engines, AI assistants, backlink value, audience size, or traffic volume, because nothing in this product controls any of them.
- What is CrownTheMap?
- CrownTheMap is a live, entertainment-focused European country competition where people cast one free active vote and follow the ranking on an interactive map.
- Can sponsors buy votes?
- No. A Sponsored Crown is a paid visibility placement and cannot add votes, change rank, or alter map color.
- How are rankings calculated?
- Countries are ranked by accepted active votes. Equal totals share the same competition rank.
- Does a Crown improve my Google rankings?
- No ranking outcome is promised. A Crown provides a clearly labelled paid sponsor link and a measurable referral opportunity beside a live country result.
The rules this runs under
Identity, destination and prohibited-content rules are in the Sponsor Content Policy. The seller, VAT position, refund and dispute handling are in the Crown terms.
Apply for sponsor review
Review checks your business, your copy and your destination against the Content Policy. It is free, takes no payment, and does not reserve a Crown; a reviewed sponsor still needs an unlocked Crown before checkout can open.
