Sponsored Crown terms

The round has ended. Crowns ended with it, nothing renews, and no Crown can be bought.

The terms below are the ones that will bind a Crown sale, recorded now together with the price and takeover contract. Nothing on this page is an offer until the status above reads Crown available.

What a Sponsored Crown is

A Sponsored Crown is one clearly labeled visibility placement beside a country result or in the selected country’s Cities panel. It never adds a vote, changes a rank, alters map color, or proves that the sponsor has an official connection to the country.

Country Crowns and city Crowns are separate placements. A city row shows the sponsor name, destination host and sponsor link, without the country card’s optional short line. Voting and rankings remain country-level.

Seller and VAT

CrownTheMap is a FluxonLab microproject. The seller is Çağrı Bozgeyik, an Austrian Einzelunternehmer established in Vienna, UID ATU83463324. The registered address, contact details, trade registration, and supervisory authority are in the imprint.

The seller trades under the Austrian small-business VAT exemption (Kleinunternehmerregelung). VAT is 0: the amount the buyer chooses at checkout is charged exactly as chosen, with nothing added on top. Checkout adds no tax line: automatic tax is switched off, and the server refuses any payment session that carries a tax amount at all.

For business purchases, that statement covers the seller’s own Austrian position only. A business buyer established in another EU member state remains responsible for determining and reporting any VAT obligation that arises there, and should treat the invoice accordingly.

Recorded price and takeover contract

Opening minimums are €5 for a country Crown, €5 for a capital Crown and €2 for another city Crown. Each placement has its own current minimum. The same takeover, purchase ceiling and round-end rules below apply to country and city Crowns.

Every recorded amount is a minimum, and the buyer will choose what to pay above it. A first country Crown is contracted at €5 or more; a takeover at the amount the current holder actually paid plus €1 or more. Checkout will accept any whole-euro amount from that minimum up to €500 per purchase and charge the chosen amount; until a Crown becomes available this is a recorded contract rather than an offer.

The amount paid, not the minimum, sets the next takeover’s floor. After a €5 opening purchase the next sponsor pays at least €6; after a €50 purchase, at least €51. Paying above the minimum buys nothing beyond that higher dethroning floor — no extra placement, feature, or duration. A Crown whose next minimum has climbed past €500 cannot be taken over again for the rest of the round.

A Crown is not exclusive for the rest of the round. Another eligible sponsor who pays at least the current takeover minimum takes it, and the earlier claim is marked superseded at that moment. A takeover by itself gives no contractual refund or compensation. Mandatory consumer rights, including a valid withdrawal, remain unaffected.

Who may buy

Crown checkout is offered to verified business buyers established in Austria, or in another enabled EU member state with a VAT ID an operator has marked valid. That is a description of the current payment path, not a requirement to own a company to submit an application. EU residents may apply as individuals without company or VAT details;Individual checkout is available only for reviewed EU residents whose billing location and the shared tax eligibility checks agree. The consumer terms below apply. United Kingdom buyers, other non-EU buyers, and inconclusive business cases cannot check out. The limit is enforced in the approval record, the checkout path, and a database constraint, not only in this copy.

CrownTheMap runs no automated VAT-ID lookup. Valid means an operator recorded a dated manual check against the reviewed business, and the approval stores that recorded result. A cross-border application without such a check cannot reach checkout.

Sponsor review intake is closed, so no new sponsor application is being collected. Review takes no payment and reserves no Crown. Approval alone does not reserve the Crown: a reviewed buyer cannot start Checkout unless the separate round, commerce, eligibility, approval, and slot gates all pass at the same time.

When a Crown starts and ends

A Crown starts after its payment is verified; an individual purchase also requires the durable contract confirmation to be sent first. It ends on takeover, withdrawal where applicable, or the round end. Nothing renews, and no Crown carries into a later round.

Checkout closes before the round does. The minimum does not fall as the remaining time shrinks, so a sponsor who buys shortly before the cutoff faces the same minimum as an earlier buyer for less remaining display time. A moderation, integrity, payment, or legal exception can suspend Crown display and new checkout while the round runs. Suspension changes what is shown; on its own it returns no money. The refund and consumer withdrawal rules below remain applicable. A Crown that is removed or suspended still never changes a vote, a rank, or map color.

Refunds and disputes

There is one automatic refund. A reservation records the Crown slot version it was priced against, the approval it was made under, and the buyer and tax policy versions in force. If the payment arrives after any of those has moved, the claim is not activated: the full amount is returned without activating that claim. An unactivated individual purchase does not suspend a previous holder. No voluntary business refund is offered beyond the contracted exceptions; mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.

A payment disputed with the card issuer moves the claim into dispute review and suspends the Crown while that review lasts. The dispute path returns no money from CrownTheMap, because the dispute is decided between the buyer and the card issuer, so one payment is never both disputed and refunded here.

Withdrawal and invoice

An individual application is not a sale and takes no payment. No voluntary withdrawal period is offered for business purchases. Individual purchases have the separate rights below, with a Withdraw from contract function and alternative seller contact methods that remain available after a round closes.

Each confirmed payment produces an invoice issued through the payment provider, carrying the seller identity above and a note that the amount is exempt under the Austrian small-business rule. It is sent to the billing address given at checkout. A buyer who needs a correction or a copy should write to the seller contact in the imprint. Sponsor review itself sends only the approval decision, never a payment document.

You buy temporary Sponsored Crown advertising for the named place in the named round. The reviewed display name and destination are published while you hold that Crown. Payment adds no votes. No minimum audience, clicks, revenue, or guaranteed holding time is promised.

The selected whole-euro amount is the complete EUR price, including all applicable taxes. There is no subscription or renewal. The seller applies the Austrian small-business VAT exemption while its conditions apply. Card details are entered only on Stripe's hosted checkout.

The next sponsor can replace you by paying at least your paid amount plus EUR 1. The service ends on a confirmed takeover, withdrawal, or the recorded round end, whichever applies first. Another sponsor's rights are separate. Approval and an unpaid checkout do not activate the service. A verified payment and a sent contract confirmation are required first.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded. To exercise it, notify the seller at the postal address, email, or telephone above with a clear statement. Sending your notice before the deadline is sufficient. The model form below is optional. The website also offers a two-step Withdraw from contract function and a private access link in your confirmation email. We email an acknowledgement of online notices. You can withdraw from your order before acceptance too.

Following a valid withdrawal, payments are returned without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving the notice, using the original payment method without a refund fee. If you expressly requested an early start and received the required information, only a legally permitted, evidenced proportionate price for service actually supplied before your notice may be retained. It is not a penalty or a card-processing fee. Missing required information or consent means no deduction. Time elapsed, takeover, or round completion alone does not prove performance or loss of rights. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Required declaration 1: I expressly request that the Crown service starts before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, after my contract confirmation is sent.

Required declaration 2: I understand that my withdrawal right is lost only after full performance when the legal conditions are met, not merely because I pay, a round ends, or another sponsor takes over.
